It's time to meet the Big Brother 25 houseguests!
Sixteen contestants have been selected to compete on the reality competition show's 25th season, and they've already answers a few questions for us!
Learning about the houseguests can be time consuming — and we know you guys just want the tea — so here are some of the highlights and notes from their answers:
America Lopez
27, Medical Receptionist
Hometown: Edinburg, Texas
Current City: Brooklyn, N.Y.
America says she's a fan of the show (not sure she's a "super fan") and claims she has seen every season. She says she will do whatever it takes to win, and does not plan to tell the other houseguests that is that she has a degree from an Ivy League school.
Initial thoughts: America came out with boundless energy. She claims to know a LOT about Big Brother history, so we're curious to see how this plays out in the house.
Blue Kim
25, Brand Strategist
Hometown: Riverside, California
Current City: New York City, N.Y.
Blue intends to lie about her job as a strategist, and plans to win comps and play a "mean social game."
Initial thoughts: Blue may have been an alternate. (She wasn't in a lot of the answer clips, her video and audio seemed to be of a different quality and in a different location.) That said, she was very energetic!
Bowie Jane
45, DJ and Barrister
Hometown: Melbourne, Australia
Current City: Los Angeles, Calif.
A former attorney, Bowie Jane is a long-time "Big Brother" fan from Melbourne, Australia. She considers herself a big fan of both the U.S. and Australian versions of the show.
Bowie plans to keep her age a secret, and will tell her fellow houseguests that she is only 34. She also plans to lie about her previous job as a lawyer.
Initial thoughts: There definitely seems to be a little bit of feistiness in Bowie's personality. We hope that translates into the game, especially as a self-proclaimed super fan.
Cameron Hardin
34, Stay-at-Home Dad
Hometown: Eastman, Ga.
Cameron has auditioned as many as six times in the past. His strategy is to ride the middle of the house, and only win when needed until the end. He's also well aware of the "mental fortitude" that it takes to win the game, as well.
His big secret: He's a super fan, of course!
Initial thoughts: This guy is such a super fan, he was geeking out in the Diary Room (the way we would be). Based on his initial interview, he certainly seems grateful to be on the show. We can't wait to see what he does with this opportunity.
Cory Wurtenberger
21, College Student
Hometown: Weston, Fla.
Cory is the brother of Survivor 42 alum Zach Wurtenberger. He is another self-proclaimed super fan of the show, and plans to enter the house playing an honest came and no lies. (Does that mean he'll tell his fellow houseguests about his brother's history on reality TV? We shall see.)
Cory also (seemingly jokingly) suggests that the cast will be all winners, and that Nicole Franzel will open Pandora's Box and unleash Victor Arroyo on the house.
Initial thoughts: Cory is VERY charming and funny. He didn't seem to have a serious moment in the entire interview. So when explaining his answers just know, he was joking through it all.
Felicia Cannon
63, Real Estate Agent
Hometown: Tacoma, Wash.
Current City: Kennesaw, Ga.
Felicia is the oldest woman to ever be in the Big Brother house. She is a retired security officer for the US Air Force, and says she is willing to take whatever the game throws at her. She says she is excited for old twists, new ones, and whatever the game brings, she is nervous but ready.
However, Felicia is a bit worried about her age becoming an issue for other houseguests, but says she can connect easily with younger people.
Initial thoughts: She already has a LOT to say, and we already love it!
Hisam Goueli
45, Geriatric Physician
Hometown: Minneapolis, Minn.
Hisam had a touching reason for doing the show: live life to the fullest. He spoke at length about his job, and highlighted the importance of seizing adventures and opportunities is important.
Once he enters the house, Hisam says he plans to find a ride-or-die before splitting the house into two factions to control every vote and coming together in the end.
Initial thoughts: Hisam has some lofty goals, and certainly seems confident that he can pull them off. We're already intrigued by his knowledge of successful strategy, and can't wait to see what he is actually capable of.
Izzy Gleicher
32, Professional Flutist
Hometown: New York City, N.Y.
Izzy wants to be a strong representation for the Queer community in the Big Brother house. She only started watching the show Jan. 2023, but has since seen every season twice. Izzy plans to enter the house playing an honest game, and thinks she will win by being charming and a comfort zone for other HGs.
Initial thoughts: It will be interesting to see how Izzy's expertise plays into the game. What sticks out the most to us is the fact that, while Izzy claims to have seen every season twice, she still has not had a chance to watch the live feeds as they play out.
Jag Bains
25, Truck Company Owner
Hometown: Omak, Wash.
Jag is the first Sikh to live in the Big Brother house, and is excited to represent. He says he is a huge fan of the show, and claims to be very competitive. To him, it's all a game. And he's willing to do what it takes to get to the end of the game.
Jag plans to tell his fellow houseguests about some of what he does for work. like being a substitute teacher, but does not plan to tell the houseguests that he is a business owner and real estate agent.
Initial thoughts: Based on his answers, Jag has some serious potential. Sounds like he's aiming for a Dan Gheesling-style game, which is certainly bold.
Jared Fields
25, Exterminator
Hometown: Norwalk, Conn.
Jared is the son of Cirie Fields, Survivor legend and winner of The Traitors' first season. Of course, he will be keeping that to himself, calling his mom the "Michael Jordan of Survivor." He is the youngest of 11 kids, which he thinks will come in handy with surviving living in the house with multiple personalities.
Jared does not claim to be a super fan of Big Brother, but says he is still a huge fan just the same. He is completely opposed to showmances, not wanting any extra targets on his back. He also says it's not in his nature to lose, so he is confident he can win.
Initial thoughts: Jared is saying all the right things, and his mom's history certainly makes him one to watch (assuming he's learned from her previous appearances on reality TV).
Kirsten Elwin
25, Molecular Biologist
Hometown: Orlando, Fla., via Dominica
Current City: Houston, Texas
Kirsten says she came from humble beginnings and has worked for everything she has. She watched Big Brother as a kid, and plans to align with the strong people in the house and steamroll the game.
Like many, she plans to lie about her occupation and say she is a swimsuit designer. Says she will win because she "doesn't take no for an answer"
Initial thoughts: We love an assertive strategy, and are interested to see how her game plan pans out.
Luke Valentine
30, Illustrator
Hometown: Weston, Fla.
Current City: Coral Springs, Fla.
Luke is excited to do the show, and says it seems fun. (Interesting wording, if you ask us.) He may play the dumb, goofy and silly cars when he enters the house, but is worried that people are going to think he's too crazy to predict.
It's also worth noting that both Luke and Cory hail from Weston, Fla. As of publication, it's unclear if they have any previous personal connections.
Initial thoughts: Luke was kind of all over the place with his answers. (At one point, he made some astrology references about him being a fire sign.) We'll see if this chaotic train of thought continues in the house.
Matt Klotz
27, Deaflympics Gold Medalist
Hometown: Cameron Park, Calif.
Current City: Baton Rouge, La.
Matt is the first hearing-impaired houseguest to play the game in the United States. He watched the game growing up, but doesn't have much time for TV because he is always training.
Matt is worried about competitions that require listening, obviously, but has super-human lip reading skills that he hopes will come in handy — though he doesn't plan to tell the other houseguests. He would also like to win the first HOH in hopes that the alliance offers would quickly come his way.
Initial thoughts: Matt is seemingly entering the house with a bold strategy. He might not have as much game knowledge as he may think, but he certainly seems to have the kind of skills that would play well in the Big Brother house.
Mecole Hayes
30, Political Consultant
Hometown: St. Louis, Mo.
Current City: Upper Marlboro, Md.
A newlywed, Mecole wants to play the game inspired by Xavier Prather and Taylor Hale's recent victories. Now, she hopes to bring home the bacon by playing her game, and no one else's.
She wants to play like a politician... kiss babies, shake hands, then stab backs. She claims to be a mixture of Britney (though we're not sure which one) Janelle Pierzina, Tiffany Michell, and Taylor Hale — as well as a little Tyra Banks.
Initial thoughts: Though some of her answers were somewhat generic, we're chalking that up to her politicking strategy.
Red Utley
37, Sales
Hometown: Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Red is here to have fun, plain and simple. He used to watch Survivor and Big Brother with the family around dinner every week, and only recently got back into the show. He also says he will go in as an open book with no secrets, except maybe his age.
Initial thoughts: Enter this year's character. (A mixture of BB16's Donny Thompson and BBOTT's Chad Michael "Cornbread" Ligon, for sure.) He doesn't seem to be tipping his hand just yet, but we're curious to see what he brings to the house.
Reilly Smedley
24, Bartender
Hometown: Portland, Maine
Current City: Nashville, Tenn.
Reilly says she is a big fan of the show, and has always wondered what it would be like to be a part of it — now, here she is! Unlike the other houseguests, she is planning to NOT plan. She believes houseguests should go in with a plan other than to keep their head on a swivel and be fluid with the house and its twists and turns.
Reilly says she has no secrets to keep from the house, and plans to bring a certain flavor to the house that it hasn't seen before.
Initial thoughts: Reilly offered a lot of generic answers throughout her interview. It's not clear how much she actually knows about the game, despite claiming her family dedicates their whole summer to the show. So, only time will tell what kind of potential she has.
